Female Ginkgo Tree

October 31st, 2009 · No Comments

Jean Bryan explaining the significant of the tree to the community and the church.

I just spotted an Asian lady scavenging on the ground of New Brighton Church, and I knew it going to be harvesting the ginkgo nuts. When I when to the class (Citizen Pruner) they told me that the city only plants male tree that did not fruits, because they don’t mesh up the ground.

So if you spotted a flowering and fruit bearing ginkgo tree, it is a rare tree.

Based on the experience from my own cultural background. I know that the nuts is great to be make soup or dessert with.

Below is a great blog entry about the topic.
